I am grateful to God for a successful election – Vice President-elect, Dr Bawumia


At the Islamic thanksgiving service organized for the President-elect and Vice President-elect at the Central Mosque, Abossey Okai in Accra, Ghana on Friday December 11, Dr. Bawumia said the Almighty God ought to be praised for what He has done.
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President-elect expressed his utmost gratitude to Allah for seeing Ghana through a successful general election and granting President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) victory.
“We give praise to Allah for a peaceful election and victory, Today is a day of gratitude. Whenever Allah does something for you, you have to be grateful to Him, For all things, we give thanks and glory to God and we want to thank Him for seeing us through this election.”

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia further added that Ghana is a unique country where Christians and Muslims are united and that is the only way that paves way for development and it’s the only way the vision of the President and President-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo can be realized.
Dr. Bawumia, Vice President-elect, also expressed his sincere gratitude and thanks to Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, the National Chief Imam, for his prayers and guidance throughout the 2020 electoral process and further urged Ghanaians to remain peaceful.
